Digestive disorders and joint problems may be the result of eating gluten contained in wheat products. If you suffer with these conditions, a Wheat-Free Diet may be just what you need to relieve your uncomfortable symptoms. Do you think that?s the only reason for not consuming products with gluten in them? Kicking this food out of your eating plan also can help you drop those unwanted pounds.

Millet is commonly used as a wheat substitute for both gluten-free and wheat-free diets, as well as are quinoa, brown rice, and sprouted grains.

Gluten-free diets and wheat-free diets often are confused with each other. Gluten may be present in wheat products, yet these two diets differ. When you?re on a wheat-free diet, you simply eliminate all foods that contain wheat. Gluten-free diets are stricter because the dieter not only cannot eat any foods with wheat in them, but needs to avoid rye and barley products as well.

What?s to be gained by not eating wheat?

  • Reduce digestive problems caused by wheat
  • You can lose some weight
  • Without wheat you will experience less joint pain

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) can cause abdominal pain, bloating, gas, changes in bowel movements, and cramping. People with IBS may be constipated one minute and have diarrhea the next. At times those with IBS cannot control their bowel movements. IBS, what personal horrors can it bring if you are stuck in traffic with no place to go?

There is little consistency in the lives of those who suffer from irritable bowel syndrome because symptoms change from one person to the next and they ebb and flow at random. Gluten intolerance has been shown to produce or exaggerate IBS symptoms. Since gluten is found in wheat, eliminating wheat from your diet can help reduce those symptoms.

Problems associated with wheat consumption aren?t limited to irritable bowel movement. When you eat wheat, it can clog up the intestines and make digestion difficult. A wheat-free diet can promote a healthy digestive tract by allowing food to flow through easier.

A slew of processed foods including, but not limited to the following have wheat in them: pasta, cereal, gravy, bread, and baked goods. losing weight might be difficult if you eat these foods which have no nutritious value. Unhealthy chemical additives are tossed into the mix when you eat processed wheat products with empty calories.

When you boot wheat out of your diet, there?s nothing left to eat but lean meats, fish, poultry, fruits, beans, nuts, legumes, and vegetables. These foods are nutrient-dense and lower in calories than processed foods. Reducing your caloric intake by eating healthier will go a long way in helping you lose weight.

Your natural defenses against osteoarthritis and osteoporosis can be hindered by gluten. A wheat-free diet might be the ticket for you if you have either of these two conditions. Pain is amplified for overweight individuals suffering from health issues in their joints. The weight loss you experience from a wheat-free diet will take some of the pressure off of your joints and help ease the pain.

When you?ve been eating wheat all of your life, the thought of eliminating it from your diet can be scary. It?s OK to eliminate wheat from your diet in incremental steps. A good way to begin is to reduce your wheat intake by 50 percent. Continue to cut back on how much wheat you eat as time goes by. Improved health should be a natural consequence of getting on a wheat-free diet.

Are you experiencing a quandary in regards to the best direction to turn to get healthy? The Diet Solution Program can get you on the right path and keep you there. Our recipes all are friendly to a wheat free diets.

Swimming Pool sand Filters

Keeping a pool clean calls for a multi-level maintenance strategy. The pools grate and skimmer
baskets will catch the bigger, more visible items that float by. Micro-scopic bacteria require
sanitizing chemical additives. For most of the other stuffthe little particles that can make your
water look cloudy and disagreeablethe filter is the best defense.
There are three types of filter systems: sand, cartridge, and diatomaceous earth (DE). All three
systems are effective and will keep your water clean. The cartridge filter requires less
maintenance, so it is rising in popularity.

Sand

Though cartridge filters are popular, Swimming Pool sand Filters are still very common. They rely on very fine
particles of sandfiner than what youd find at the beachto catch small particles you dont want
in your water. Compared to other types of filters, sand is a little less effectivethat is, it will let
some smaller particles pass through into the pool. In addition, sand needs to be cleaned
manually every few weeks and changed at least once a season.

Cartridge
These are like the water filter you may have under your kitchen
sink. Water passes through the filter and catches small, offending
particles. Generally, cartridge filters have more square feet of
catching area than sand filters, so they need to be cleaned less
often; high-end models will last a whole season. And they are
easy to clean: Just hose them off. In terms of effectiveness, they
are between sand and DE filters for particle-catching ability. They
work best with low water pressure, so they partner well with
energy- saving pump systems.

DE (Diatomaceous Earth)

These Swimming Pool sand Filters contain a fine powder of diatomaceous earth, which
is actually fossilized exo-skeletons of tiny diatoms. The powder
coats the filter and works like a sieve to remove particles. This
type of filter is the most effective at keeping the water clean.
Whichever type of filter you choose, good maintenance will help
keep your whole pump/filtration system working efficiently. To
gauge when its time to clean the filter, keep an eye on the pressure, or psi, level in your pool.
Take note of the pressure level when the filter is clean. When you notice that the pressure has
risen about 10 psi, its time to clean the filter. The water circulation system for all types of filters
works best at low water pressure levels.

Filtermaster Sand Filters are manufactured with
high grade breglass and resins utilising the latest
engineering techniques ensuring high quality and
superior strength for long life and durability.

If you are an owner of a business that operates online, then you definitely have an idea at just how tough the competition is in the online marketplace. So if you want to ever hope for your business to survive online, then you will need to have an effective advertising strategy. Before you can make money, you will need to have customers first. And that is where advertising comes in. With regards to online advertising, you need to be extra aggressive considering just how tight the competition is online. One of the best way to advertise in the World Wide Web is through the utilization of animated banner ads.

Animated banner ads are basically banners that are found in many websites that hosts or publish it. If the user proceeds to click on the banner, then he or she will be taken to the website of the business that offers the product that's being advertised where a possible sale might happen. The animated banner ad is probably one of the most traditional way to advertise in the Internet which can be traced back in the 1990s when the Internet is starting to gain popularity. And now, even after two decades, banner advertising still continues to be one of the most utilized online advertising method. And this can be considered a testament for its effectiveness. Nowadays it is quite common to come across websites that are filled with banner advertisements.

Many business owners are utilizing banner ads because of the fact that it is one of the easiest way to promote their business. They are usually made with colorful graphics, funny punch lines, vibrant colors or it could even entertain users with a mini-game or elaborate animations. Definitely one of the most well known benefit of animated banner ads is that your brand will reach consumers on a more global scale as opposed to being local only. Because of its great aesthetic appeal, it is easier for owners to establish their brand in the Internet. Depending on how well made the banner is in terms of design and aesthetics, the more user attention you can grab.

The benefits of animated banner ads is not only limited to the business that is being advertised but it can also benefit the website that hosts these ads or the publisher. This is because publishers can also earn a revenue whenever these animated banner ads are clicked by the user. Not necessarily that the user should make a purchase, just as long as the banner is clicked, it means revenue for the publisher.

Animated banner ads are more suitable for large business organizations because in order for these banners to be effective, they need to be distributed on a large scale. And this means quite a good amount of money. Which is why they are not recommended for sole proprietors or small businesses. So if you are looking for an effective advertising strategy, then you might want to consider advertising your business through animated banner ads.

New Franchisee Spotlight: Oscar Angulo Inzunza, Kitchener, Ontario ...

A native of Mexico, Oscar Angulo Inzunza moved to the United States in 2002. After pursuing his MBA, Inzunza had gained extensive information from his classmates regarding the world of entrepreneurship. After talking with a recruiter, and meeting Mike Hawkins, Vice President of Glass Doctor?, Inzunza realized Glass Doctor was the perfect fit.

Inzunza?s research did not stop there. He spoke with current franchisees and learned how strong the support system behind Glass Doctor is, and how franchising sets the stage for ultimate success. New Franchise Owner for Glass Doctor

Q: Where did you grow up?

A: ?I was born in Mexico and moved to Ontario in 2002.

Q: What was your career before franchising?

A: I worked in manufacturing for most of my career in the automotive and light manufacturing industries.? A few years ago, I decided that I wanted to further my education and pursued my MBA at Queens University.? While in school, many of my classmates were entrepreneurs, and told me about their experience building their own companies.? After completing my MBA, I realized that I was at a crossroads: I could either pursue a corporate role, or try something different.? Based on what I had learned from both the university and my classmates, I decided to push myself outside of my comfort zone and become an entrepreneur.

Q: How did you learn about Glass Doctor?

A: ?I spoke with a recruiter about different franchising opportunities and Glass Doctor came up.? The company seemed like they were well established and provided a successful business to its franchisees, so I decided to look into it further.? I met the Vice President of Glass Doctor and learned more about the company, including the Code of Values, which really sold me.? I then spoke with other Glass Doctor franchisees and everyone spoke really highly of all the support that Glass Doctor corporate provides. I asked the franchisees questions about why they joined the company, what they did before opening their Glass Doctor, and their success.? ?I also thought the culture of the company as a whole was fantastic.

Q: What was most appealing to you about joining a franchise system as opposed to starting your own business?

A: I don?t have a specific trade that I?m an expert in, like a mechanic or electrician, so I needed to learn about this business, and how to run a successful company.? ?I?ve been managing people for a long time, and those experiences are going to help me to create a good work environment for my employees.? Just learning about the overall operation of this business is very exciting.? ?I really enjoy working in the service industry.? And based on my personality, I know I will really enjoy working in this type of industry and am excited for the opportunity to learn and grow and help my customers.

Picking new leader, Egyptians search for superman

(AP) ? Egyptians say they want their next leader to be honorable, smart, a knight, a man with a heart, a military man, a religious man, one who goes down and meets with the people. What they are really looking for is a superman.

Egypt's next president is facing an incredibly tall order of problems, from a tumbling economy and a beat-up security force to decrepit schools and hospitals that can't even provide enough incubators for premature babies.

Turning out in large numbers to vote for the first time in free and competitive presidential elections, a deeply engaged population have a lot of expectations from the leader that will replace the longtime leader Hosni Mubarak, whom they ousted in a popular uprising last year.

"We want a flawless president. We want him strong, just, respectable, clean, someone who feels for the poor. We basically want a superman," said Heba el-Sayed, a 42-year old teacher who was asking her colleagues outside a polling station in the popular neighborhood of Sayeda Zeinab who they voted for.

Egyptians have never had the chance to pick a leader. Mubarak, who was often derisively labeled as "pharaoh" by Egyptians, came to power in 1981 after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat at the hands of Islamic militants, mostly because he signed a peace treaty with Israel. He was re-elected multiple time after that, mainly in yes-or-no referendums in which he was the only candidate.

The pent-up anger that exploded against Mubarak's reign on January 25, 2011 built up over years because of festering corruption, which created a tight ruling clique around his family and cronies. It left a twisted economic development, that soared in terms of economic development indicators, but was unevenly distributed ? leaving vast sections of the population ? up to 40 percent? hovering near or fallen far below the poverty line.

Denying services and attention to the poor seemed to be a way the Mubarak's regime kept such classes in constant need of handouts and dependent on a patronage system, which doled out small benefits to those who cooperated and stayed under his control. This left a debilitated public health and education system, where only those who can pay can receive better services.

His authoritarian regime, which has maintained good relations with the world, relied heavily on security agencies whose widespread torture and abuse were the immediate reason behind the uprising.

The 18 days of protests that brought his fall were not limited to the poor or the abused, they brought in a broad spectrum of classes, angered over every aspect of the stagnation and worried that it would only deepen if Mubarak's son, Gamal, succeeded him as was widely expected.

So in the voting that began Wednesday and continues Thursday, the hundreds of thousands who lined up at the polls had a litany of dreams. Freedom to walk freely with girlfriends or boyfriends without police harassment. Improved sewage systems. Better education.

"I've lived under Gamal Abdel-Nasser, Anwar Sadat, and Hosni Mubarak," Mahmoud Ahmed, a 70-year old businessman, said, listing Egypt's last three presidents as he waited to vote in the impoverished Cairo district of Basateen.

"What we want to see is someone with the firmness of Nasser, the political skills of Sadat," he said.

"And nothing at all from Mubarak."

He said he wants the next president's priority to hold a "real" trial for Mubarak ? reflecting how many Egyptians dismiss the current trial of the ousted leader as a sham.

Mubarak has been on trial for months over charges of corruption and complicity in the killing of nearly 900 protesters during the uprising against him. As the proceedings have dragged, many have grown skeptical that the trial organized under the military rulers would constitute a fair trial. A verdict is expected on June 2 before the name of a president is announced.

For Yasmine Abdel-Rahman, a 22-year veiled student who was voting in the southern industrial district of Helwan, a religious leader can bring justice. She was voting for the candidate of the Muslim Brotherhood, which was Mubarak's most organized opposition and has seized its place as Egypt's most powerful political movement since his ouster.

"First thing he must do is get back the rights of all the martyrs. Many mothers' hearts are broken," she said.

Ali Ragab, a 27-year old who runs a photo shop in a rundown neighborhood of Maadi, agrees. But he thinks only a president that can rival the charisma and populist ideals of Nasser can do the job.

He's voting for Hamdeen Sabahi, a veteran opposition figure under Mubarak who proclaims Nasser as his role model. Sabahi has recently risen in polls, particularly among the working class and younger generations.

"I want a leader like Nasser, who looks after the poor. I wish those days come back," said the dreamy-eyed Ragab, born 15 years after Nasser's death.

"We need a leader that has extraordinary skills, one that has a heart, a big brain, and can play politics. He must be all that," he said as he helped other voters find their polling station.

Zeinab Nabil, a 28-year old mother, lost two of her triplets because of an unexplainable shortages of incubators in public hospitals. After their premature birth in September 2010, she ran from hospital to hospital for months trying to find incubators and proper care, only to be turned away.

Now she is indebted to the banks for over $8,000 from the salary of her husband, who works in another city. The only good luck she's had is that her landlord dropped her rent by a third after the revolution because of her economic woes.

"I want the president to spare other people my troubles. I want him to fix the hospitals and provide incubators," she said. "I want him to be just. I want him to walk among us. I want him to be human."

None of the 13 candidates running in the first round is likely to win outright. So a run-off will be held between the top two on June 16-17, with the victor announced June 21.

The president's powers have not yet been defined. The military rulers, the Islamist-dominated parliament and various groups and political parties of liberals and secularists have been locked in a struggle over how to write the constitution that will define the Egypt's political system, the role of religion and the place of the military in the future.

The explosive mix of high expectations and a power struggle between political factions will set the tone for the next president's entire term, supposed to be for four years. The stormy transition since Mubarak's fall has piled on even more demands, with some wanting the ruling generals held accountable for mismanagement and violence during the past 16 months.

And the new president will face the constant threat of protests from a politically charged population.

"There is now an open court in Tahrir. No matter who is elected," said Hamdi Abdel-Zaher, a 40 year old accountant, referring to Tahrir Square, the epicenter of the anti-Mubarak uprising and months of protests since against the ruling military.

Fares Kamel, a 42-year old trader in a village on the outskirts of Cairo, said despite the destruction of the image of a pharaoh among Egyptians, many still yearn for it, seeing him as a savior.

"They want to be led," Kamel said. He thinks the president must be "a knight, who has a sword and is not afraid to use it or to die using it. We want someone with dignity, and not a filthy rich man. We don't want a thief."

"We want someone that loves this country, and satisfies people's needs. God be with him."

Field Goals and the High School Football Game

The poor kicker. He's there on the sideline for 99% of the entire football game. He's expected to come in now and then, completely cold, and focus his energy and attention on the singular act of precisely kicking the ball through those dreaded uprights from varying degrees of distance. How can that be fun. On top of that, he kind of has outsider status in the locker room since his role is so different from anyone else in the team. The life of a high school field goal kicker is ripe with both stress and elation. Which one can flip a full 180 depending on his last kick. Let's look a little deeper at the prep football kicker and field goal, not to mention how we brought them squarely into our high school fantasy football league play.

Almost no player on a football team is so uniquely singled out as the field goal kicker. Football real is the quinticential team sport. You can't run with out a strong line. You can't score without a great defense giving you back the ball. It's all interwoven. Except for the kicker. He stands alone and that makes it a position that relies as much on mental toughness as physical skill and ability. When you walk out on that field as a kicker, you walk alone. Yea, special teams is out there for the protection and you do have your setter but those pieces are pretty much assumed to work. You're the one who has to perform. Spotlight's on.

Most high school football kickers either run dual duties with another position such as tightend or they come from a strong soccer lineage. It's such a specific skill set that the coach will usually check around the players at smaller schools to see who can pull it off on top of their usual position. Bigger high school programs usually have soccer players for which the kick, with a little practice, is pretty straight forward after years of developing foot control. This can affect the style of kick...either from the side or straight on. There's no right or wrong way unless of course, the ball misses the mark. That's the wrong way.!

The field goal is really a powerful tool and it's not exaggerating to say that many actual high school football games or won or lost by it's success. It's hard enough for any high school offenses to put together a successful touch down drive but getting down the field to a safe field goal range is going to happen much more often. A touch down is 6 points. At 3 points, the field goal is pretty potent since it's half the point total of the touch down and much easier to obtain. Although the field goal feels a bit of a let down from the full touchdown, it can quietly win the game for you after enough successful attempts. To account for this powerful point gaining ability, we kicked up the points for a field goal in our high school fantasy leagues to 3 points. This can quickly add up so you don't want to skimp on the kicker. It's actually not bad strategy to pick a team that has an average or poor offense since they might be in the position to kick more often than score a touchdown. When choosing your fantasy league players, don't kick them to the curb. Okay. That was stinky.

Game technology vs. cancer | Learn Computer Programming

The requirements are daunting for a team of scientists at Wake Forest University, in Winston-Salem, who are helping to work on a cure for cancer: the ability to comprehend, interpret and apply complex concepts and data in a new format; the pursuit or completion of advanced degrees; patience and a tireless work ethic, and being a video game master.

OK, that last requirement isn?t mandatory? but it couldn?t hurt.

Samuel Cho and his team use graphic processing units (GPUs) ? the same technology that makes video game images look so realistic on the screen ? to simulate how human cells work. The goal is to find new targets for tumor-killing drugs by seeing how cells live, divide and die. What they learn could have an effect on all cancers, Cho says.

The project is a marriage of biophysics and computer science, although this union is experimental. Cho, a specialist in both fields, says, ?We?re really not interested in making images. However, we?re interested in performing the simulations. So we repurpose the technology for making the video game images to instead do computer simulations.

?What we found is that the simulations we can perform are much, much faster than the way people can normally do it on a regular computer. Video gamers usually purchase relatively high-end video cards that are usually $500 or so for the latest ones. We buy them off Amazon, put them into our regular desktop computer and then write programs to run our simulations on these graphics cards instead of on a regular computer.?

Cho says the graphics cards? main function is to ?render images and get them on the screen. At a very fundamental level, what it?s doing is basically number-crunching because the location of each pixel and intensity are calculated behind the scenes on these graphics processors. That?s how those pixels are determined.?

The main character for these scientists isn?t from the Legend of Zelda or Super Mario series but rather a key RNA molecule that forms part of the human telomerase enzyme. The enzyme ?is only found in cancerous cells,? Cho says.

?The way that it works is, in a normal cell there are these things called telomeres at the end of each DNA string. Every time a cell divides, the telomeres are shortened little by little by little until they get to a certain length, and that?s when the cell knows never to divide again and then it pretty much dies.

?In a cancerous cell, the enzyme telomerase keeps on adding to ends of the DNA, so the cell doesn?t know when to die, and it keeps dividing over and over and over again. That?s basically the definition of what cancer is.?

Learning how the RNA molecule assembles itself, or ?folds,? and functions in that enzyme provides new information in researching cancer treatments. Cho says scientists ?took this very large enzyme and kept on chopping it up into little bits to see whether it would still function. What they found was that only when you cut out this particular RNA section that the function just disappears. So that?s why it?s a critical part of the enzyme.?

Graphic cards and speed

Cho says his project ? three years in the making ? is just part of a massive cancer research effort that?s aided by rapidly escalating computer science innovation.

?I?m certainly not the only one who?s using these graphics cards to do computational research,? Cho says. ?A good example would be that if you take a look at the world?s top 100 supercomputers, the United States used to have the top supercomputer in terms of raw performance. A few years ago, Japan came out with a supercomputer that was much faster than that of the United States and knocked them off the top of the charts. It was mostly because they incorporated these graphics cards into their supercomputers.

?After that, the Japanese computer was knocked off the list by a Chinese supercomputer. The main reason was that they had also used these graphics cards. Now the United States is about to release their own supercomputer. ? It seems like this is the direction that people will be going in for high-performance computing for quite some time.?

It also helps scientists that the sheer number of games consoles has helped GPUs drop in cost and grow in power: ?Five hundred dollars is not expensive when you consider that in our simulations, the speed we get is roughly 30 times? that of the average computer, Cho says. ?Imagine buying 30 computers versus buying one computer that has one graphics card. In that case, the economics seem to work out better.?

Cho says graphics cards of different levels are available at different places, including from the companies that make the cards. ?If you want a very specialized one for a computing cluster, they have servers that you would have to purchase directly from IBM? or some company that specializes in these kinds of products.

Anqi Zou, an undergraduate student who?s working on the project with Cho, says the games? widespread popularity has the general public curious about using video cards in scientific computing.

?People familiar with video games pretty much all have heard about NVIDIA, the manufacturer of the GPUs we are using, and are very surprised by this notion of using video cards on scientific computing,? he says. ?I think this concept performs as a great hook to get the audience interested in this topic.

?This technology can not only be used in understanding the movement of molecular particles and the cause of cancer and developing treatments (what we are doing now) but also be applied in countless fields such as cosmology, combustion science, financial analysis to name a few. Even as a computer science major, I was very impressed when I first knew about this technology.?

Algorithms, analyses

There can be obstacles when combining computers and science ? in this case, developing new algorithms and codes for programming on CPUs because of the complexity of calculating due to the myriad interactions involved. This emerging field makes it essential to be an expert in both biophysics and computer science, as is Cho.

In addition, the relative newness of this process makes it even more crucial that its accuracy be proven and reliable. Zou ? who analyzes and compares data outputs generated by the simulations, then documents them ? says ?my role is important because, given that using the GPUs is still very new to many scientists, people are concerned about the accuracy of the results generated from this new technology.?

Still, the use of GPUs and gaming consoles in medical research has been building momentum for several years, with no end in sight. Since 2007, Sony?s PlayStation 3 has helped researchers in the fight against Alzheimer?s, Parkinson?s and other cancers by supporting Stanford University?s Folding@home project: When a PlayStation 3 console isn?t being used for games, its processors can use spare computing cycles and join a network of machines around the world to simulate folding ? the mysterious process by which the body?s proteins assemble themselves.

?The downside of product creation? by Kathleen Gage

Kathleen Gage?s latest blog post is titled ?The downside of product creation?.

Gage says, ?Recently, someone posted on my FB event wall that money isn?t important; serving his market, donating to causes and impacting others is what drives him.

Most of the entrepreneurs I know feel the same way. I know I do. And yet, without money in your business it?s more difficult to serve at the highest level.

More and more?entrepreneurs are coming from a very conscious place in how they run their businesses. It?s about honesty, integrity, the desire to serve, giving the best we can and making a profit?.

Sports nutrition supplements - Training Supplements, Are The Myths True?

Training supplements have been around for a long time, and have become a lot more advanced throughout that time. There are however several erroneous ideas that some people have regarding supplements and there uses. All individuals are entitled to their opinion, although more often than not these views are the outcome of false communication or topic of conversation from people who have either used the wrong supplement for its objective or have unsuccessfully followed an efficient nutrition and training routine along with it. There are a number of supplement myths in existence in the health and fitness world, regardless of amount of research that has been carried out to demonstrate they are untrue. If the suitable supplements taken with an adequate training regime and a well-balanced nutritional plan, then they can play a big task in offering greater amounts of or missing nutrients to support you achieve your objectives.

Throughout this article, we will contemplate some of the most popular fabrications that have occurred during the past few years and argue the accuracy of each. After this, you can decide for yourself, however, always try and do your own research before when in the market for a supplement and plan your choice on the points you learn.

Myth: You Are Wasting Your Money on Supplements

This assumption often arises from those who have history taking supplements, or individuals who work in the training business and have advised supplements in the past, minus either experiencing the awaited improvements or results they were hoping to see. This may be true for an individual supplement, or more often than not mean the individual was not taking the correct supplement to complement their end goal or were disregarding other characteristics of their diet and training. It is easy to hold responsible failure on a product, which can steer people into mistrusting supplements at all. This can be tremendously misrepresented, supplements are not magic, and those that swear great gains in short amounts of time are just purely striving to promote themselves, this does not however signify they will not contribute at all to your nutrition and training regime.

Training Supplements - Word of mouth can also contribute to this, if a person criticises a supplement, then someone else is probably going to to do similar even without having tried it. Again, different reason could be aboard, and what brings positive results or does seem beneficial for one may result in the opposite impact on another. That individuals nutrition and exercise plan could be utterly dissimilar to start with, to put it plainly, you should not disregard it until you have tried it. Supplements are not a waste of cash and do have a role in aiding you in completing your end goals. You are just required to make sure you understand what you end objectives are before you start using any type of supplementation, your nutrition and training is adequate, and you do your own studies before. Supplement companies formulate scientifically prior to testing their supplements in advance to releasing so they can make sure they can carry out the duty they are manufactured for.

Myth: Supplement Consumption Allows You To Neglect Your Diet

Sports supplements have to always follow diet and exercise, not the reverse way round. Believing you are not required to eat optimal levels of protein from whole foods throughout every day because you have drank a few protein shakes, or believing you do not require your intake of fruit or vegetables as you have been taking a multi vitamin supplement, is amiss. Making sure your diet and nutrition is adequate before beginning any physical activity regime is very essential. You should not even think about supplements beforehand. It can be the same with various fat burners, there are those who believe if they are consuming a fat burner then it allows them to eat as much fat as they want. Regrettably, that is not how it works, keep in mind, supplements only compliment or strengthen your diet, they should never be a substitute for it.

Myth: Supplements Mean You Can Neglect Your Training

Supplement Store - In relation to the above, with training, some people think supplements will bring benefits without the requirements for exercise. As mentioned supplements are supposed to aid training and exercise, and more often than not improve it, attained either by giving you increased energy to work out, or by enabling you to recover and repair {in less time|faster|quicker]. You still have to supply the effort and dedication in to see the expected results. The notorious phrase no pain no gain is certainly spot on. People are known to begin an exercise regime, and then ignore the nutritional aspect whilst carrying on using their supplements (more than likely because this is the simplest bit of the regime to do). They then conclude that they are throwing money away as their supplements are not working or find that they are increasing body fat because they are taking in increased calories whilst not achieving enough physical activity to shift them.

Myth: If It Did Not Work For Them, It Will Not Work For Me

There is no truth in this statement at all. Every person is unalike, and even if two individuals consume similar nutrients and do precisely the same training, further causes will have a part in their gains. Plenty of recovery, every day activity levels, and genetics all have a factor in the gains and results people will notice. Never believe that if one supplement did not produce any gains for somebody else, even if the most rigorous diet and fitness regime was kept to, it will not work for you.

Closing arguments to begin in John Edwards case

(AP) ? With only two hours allotted to each side to make closing arguments Thursday, prosecutors and defense lawyers neared the end of a month-long trial into whether former presidential candidate John Edwards violated campaign finance laws.

Edwards has pleaded not guilty to six criminal counts related to campaign finance violations stemming from nearly $1 million secretly provided by two wealthy donors that helped hide his pregnant mistress during the 2008 Democratic primary. He faces up to 30 years in prison and $1.5 million in fines if convicted of all charges.

Prosecutors likely will argue the payments were intended to influence the outcome of an election by keeping Edwards' political hopes viable. Defense lawyers will counter that Edwards had limited knowledge of the cover-up and that the payments were gifts intended to keep his cancer-stricken wife from leaning about the out-of-wedlock pregnancy.

U.S. District Court Judge Catherine C. Eagles set the two-hour limit for closing arguments. The jury is expected to begin deliberating Friday.

On Wednesday, Edwards' team wrapped up their defense without calling him, his mistress or daughter to testify, a move experts said was intended to shift focus from a political sex scandal to the nitty-gritty of campaign finance law.

"The defense wasn't sexy, but the defense doesn't want sexy. It wants an acquittal," said Steve Friedland, a professor at Elon University School of Law and former federal prosecutor who has attended much of the trial.

Experts said Edwards' bare-bone defense, which lasted just over two days, may be enough to avoid conviction on charges he authorized more than $1 million secretly provided by two wealthy donors to help hide an affair with pregnant mistress Rielle Hunter as he sought the White House in 2008.

The prosecution presented nearly three weeks of evidence and testimony from a former Edwards aide and campaign advisors that painted Edwards as a frequent liar, but showed no direct evidence he intended to break federal campaign finance laws, the experts said.

Many observers believed Edwards would testify so the jury could hear directly from the former U.S. senator and trial lawyer, who had a reputation for his ability to sway jurors. But putting Edwards and Hunter on the stand would have exposed the defense to withering cross-examination about Edwards' past lies and personal failings.

"The defense may very well have felt that their case was solid enough to go to the jury without the risk of the personal testimony of these witnesses, which would undoubtedly resurrect the salacious details of the affair for the jury," said Catherine Dunham, another Elon law professor who has been attending the trial.

The defense also elected not to call Edwards' oldest daughter, Cate, a 30-year-old lawyer who has sat behind her father nearly every day, as a character witness to help humanize him.

At one point during the trial, Cate Edwards ran out of the courtroom in tears during testimony about her cancer-stricken mother, Elizabeth, confronting her father about his extramarital affair.

The former Democratic presidential candidate has sat quietly at the defense table throughout his trial, whispering with his lawyers and rarely showing reaction to the often emotional testimony from witnesses who were once among his strongest supporters and closest friends.

He has made no public statements since October, following a pre-trial hearing where a judge refused to throw out the case.

At the trial, prosecutors have shown two members of Edwards' inner circle, campaign finance chairman Fred Baron and once-close aide Andrew Young, engaged in a yearlong cover-up to hide the married presidential candidate's mistress from the media.

The married Young falsely claimed paternity of his boss' baby and received $725,000 in secret checks from an elderly heiress, using some of the money to care for Hunter.

Baron, a wealthy Texas lawyer, provided Young and Hunter with more than $400,000 in cash, luxury hotels, private jets and a $20,000-a-month rental mansion in Santa Barbara, Calif.

Prosecutors have introduced phone records, voicemails and other evidence showing Edwards in frequent contact with Baron, Young and Hunter while Hunter was in hiding.

Former members of Edwards' campaign also testified that Baron spoke of "moving Hunter around" in the candidate's presence and that Edwards told his speechwriter he knew "all along" what Baron was up to.

But in 14 days of testimony, no witness ever said Edwards knew he was violating campaign finance laws, a key element of criminal intent the government must prove to win a conviction.

"There was no direct evidence that John Edwards knew he was violating campaign contribution laws," Friedland said. "Juries like smoking guns. There were no smoking guns here."

Google Bot now crawls arbitrary Javascript sites

Just spotted something while looking through Apache logs:

66.249.67.106 ... "GET /ajax/xr/ready?x=clcgvsgizgxhfzvf HTTP/1.1" ...

This is an ajax request issued from document.ready() callback of one website?s pages. This means that the bot now executes the Javascript on the pages it crawls. The IP of 66.249.67.106 is crawl-66-249-67-106.googlebot.com and the A record is a match, so this is in fact a Google Bot.

Moreover, few lines below there is this:

66.249.67.106 ... "GET /content/halloc/index.html?&x=clcgvsgizgxhfzvf ...

This is an URL that is fetched via Ajax by a Javascript function in response to the menu item click. Also, note the x argument - it is dynamically added and only by that specific function. This means that the bot now emulates a user clicking around the site and then seeing which actionable items lead to which additional pages.

This is pretty incredible in and of itself.

It also means that Google Bot has smarten up to a point where it can crawl an arbitrary Ajax?ified website and not ?some dynamic comments? as before.

Good stuff, never liked that escaped_fragment contraption anyway :)

CARPE DIEM: April Real Estate Blowout

Houston is now the 31st metro or state real estate market reporting double-digit gains in April (see full list here):

"April marked the eleventh straight month of growth in Houston home sales. Total sales and sales of single-family units registered increases of nearly 10% each over April of 2011. The average price of a single-family home rose by 11% year-over-year to $223,000. Rising demand pushed down the inventory of single-family homes by 27% compared to a year earlier. The Houston Association of Realtors expects tighter inventory will continue to push prices upward and spur new home construction in the coming months."
