Titcomb Mountain has been owned and operated by the Farmington Ski Club since 1948.? The focus of the club has always been to provide affordable winter recreation to children and families through club membership, children?s lesson and race programs in both downhill snow sports and cross-country skiing.?
Recently, the Farmington Ski Club Board of Directors has established a goal of increasing the participation of children in winter outdoor recreation. The club strongly believes that outdoor winter sports are major contributors for children to establish healthy lifestyles. The club wants every child from Farmington and the surrounding communities of Western Maine to utilize and enjoy Titcomb Mountain.? To accomplish this goal, the Board has developed a plan to increase children participation in club membership, children programs, day tickets and club events.
The first step in this plan is a complete restructuring of club membership and season pass pricing to encourage children participation. The Farmington Ski Club always had discounts for families based on the number of individuals. Then a few years ago the club introduced lower rates for children ages 6 to 12 that started at $155 for an Alpine pass (or about $40 less than rates for teenagers or adults.) This season the club has lowered the membership prices for children by 20% for downhill passes, and even more for children cross-country ski?passes.
Yes, the club has gone a little crazy?crazy for kids.?
Here is a sample of the new rates effective through October 22, 2012:
