Dear Daddyshome Members,
I?m forwarding an email I received from the Georgia Fatherhood Program to stress the significance and importance of the work and efforts of ALL the people involved with Daddyshome, Inc. and At-Home Dad Convention.
<Good Morning!
It is with great regret that I inform you effective June 30, 2011 the Technical College System of Georgia will no longer offer the ?Georgia Fatherhood Program.?? The Georgia Fatherhood Program has been in existence since 1997 and due to the recession and lack of funding for many programs around our State we are closing the chapter on this program.? All personnel connected with the Fatherhood Program will no longer be available to provide services to you or your clients.
We thank you for the years of collaborative partnerships, friendships, and the many lives we collectively have changed in Georgia.
Respectfully,
Arlana Murray, Operations

Due to the current US financial crisis and budget cuts I expect other fatherhood programs to also close their doors. Sadly, many mainstream fathers will be left without the valuable support, network and resources Daddyshome provides for its members.
We, as a group, should be PROUD of Daddyshome's accomplishments and that it can continue to operate and thrive during tough economic times. One of Daddyshome's most stellar accomplishments is the At-Home Dads Convention. For those of you who are not aware, the Daddyhome At-Home Dads Convention is the longest consecutive running fatherhood event (15 years) in the United States and probably the world. Another important fact is that while other fatherhood organizations have held conventions and conferences few of the attendees have been dads. Most attendees are health professionals, family practitioners and politicians. However, at the At-Home Dad Convention over 90% of attendees have been dads.
As we PROUDLY march forward to our 16th At-Home Dad Convention in our nation?s capital, Washington DC, I?d like to remind everyone of how lucky we are to have each other.
Keep On Daddying,
Hogan Hilling
